1| Fashion | My Indian Junk Jewellery Collection – Favourite Earrings

Lockdown cleaning is in progress and I just cleaned my entire junk jewellery collection. Sorting my wardrobe and my jewellery is my favourite type of cleaning. You can try on some pieces and model around. Sometimes you even discover items that you had forgotten that you owned. I decided to shoot some of my favourite junk jewellery for this blog. I’m a big fan of really huge chunky earrings of different kinds. Most of my collection consists of them. I do have some neck pieces as well but I’m not big on wearing them because it’s usually too hot in India to be comfortable wearing something around your neck!

Let’s start with the very very large earrings in my collection. These are my prized possessions –

Mirror Earrings:

These are my favourite earrings!
These can spruce up any plain outfit!

Danglers:

These are my favourite danglers. I wear these THE most often.
These are so pretty to wear everyday!

Indian Jhumkas:

These are so pretty but my hair keeps entangling in them!
Love the pop of colour in them. I usually prefer plain silver earrings.
These earrings are as big as my fist!

I bought these absolutely gorgeous earrings during my trip to Dubai. Don’t know what to categorise these as.

Look at that gorgeous colour!

Quirky earrings that are perfect for travel outfits. These were gifted to me.

These would compliment any beach outfit so well!

Jaali Earrings:

Yes, I love crazy big earrings!

These are my favourite medium sized earrings:

I find this pair to be very different and elegant!
Look at that colour 😍
I love mirror earrings. I think I have 3-4 more of them.

Moving on to the small-ish earrings in my collection:

These are so elegant to wear with Indian wear.
I love quirky earrings. Got these from Pushkar, Rajasthan.
I’ve worn these earrings so much! For like 2-3 months after I bought them, I’d wear them everyday.
These are another elegant, simple pair.

Places where I shop my junk jewellery from:

Street shops:

  • Janpath Market, New Delhi
  • Bandra Hill Road, Mumbai
  • Colaba, Mumbai

Mall shops:

  • Ayesha
  • Accessorize

Travel: all cities in Rajasthan are amazing for picking up classic pieces of jewellery. I’ve picked up earrings from Jaipur, Pushkar & Jodhpur.

I also shop for classic pieces from Amrapali and FabIndia which I haven’t included in this collection, since I won’t classify them as junk jewellery. Definitely Tribe by Amrapali is my favourite brand to pick up quirky yet gorgeous jewellery.

These are some of my favourite earrings. I love fashion, junk jewellery and getting dressed up! I’ve decided to do a few blogs on fashion. Do let me know how you like my style of earrings and if I should do a similar post on the neck pieces in my collection.

Stay safe.

Wow you have so many big earrings. How do you style them? I’m asking because I have a few but I end up not wearing them as often because I feel like it doesn’t match my outfit or laid back style

I actually like wearing big earrings with a laid back outfit to spruce it up. There are many days when I don’t feel like getting really dressed to head out, so I team up an oversized shirt with leggings and oversized danglers to spruce up the look. Similarly white tee-blue jeans with funky big earrings is something I’d do. ☺️

I LOVE YOUR EARRINGS. I have mine on display so they are pretty to look at and I like big earrings like you, but I don’t wear them often. My ears are sensitive so I have to build up a tolerance, plus I forget to wear them!

I’ve been wearing big earrings since college. They used to kill my ears before but now they’ve become tolerant to the weight of big earrings. 🙂
Ohh, would love to see your collection too!
