Me| December Goals – Bye Bye 2020

I maybe a little more hopeful than intended while writing this blog. The UK government has approved the Pfizer vaccine and is set to start vaccinating folks from next week. While my country still has a while to go before we get the vaccine – it still fills me with so much hope that in 6-8 months we can go back to life as we knew it! 2020 was supposed to be the best year of my life as per my plans but unfortunately it was a year that pushed me out of my comfort zone and into the unknown. I wish I could say I learnt a new skill or did something exceptional this year but the only thing I did do was – SURVIVE! Survived through the anxiety, through sleepless nights, through months spent without meeting loved ones, through the initial lockdown days which we survived minus food supplies (we didn’t hoard and found it hard to get supplies a few days in), through moving cities in the middle of the pandemic (and getting supremely harassed by my ex-landlords) and so much more. I know this was a year of growth for a lot of people but for me this was just a year of making the best of whatever was happening. And I do understand that I didn’t have it as bad as some other people ( I do count my blessings).

How the year began – with a lot of travel!
What the year became – photoshoots at home to keep myself entertained 🙈

December is the last month of this year and I want to have a few, doable goals for the month that will put me on track for my bigger goals in 2021. Here is my goal list –

  1. Fix my sleep cycle – for the past few years, I had gotten into the habit of waking and sleeping early. With anxiety really impacting my sleep this year, I have started sleeping late and waking up late (9AM!!). The goal for the month is to try and wake up early everyday to slowly start fixing my sleep schedule.
  2. Workout every day – While my usual goals for the past few years has been to loose weight, I realize the right goal to have is to be healthy! Keeping that in mind – the goal is to get a good workout in every day.
  3. Try my hand out on new fun recipes – I definitely want to spend some time baking fun things this month for family and friends! I want to try new recipes like Rum Cake, Christmas Cookies – I’ll definitely post about them here. (PS: I tried my hand at making a tiramisu yesterday and it was amazing. I even baked the ladyfinger biscuits from scratch! Recipe here.)
  4. Spend less time on my phone – I spend so much time just staring into my device. I can’t believe how much my usage of my phone has gone up this year. But I’m consciously going to make an effort to reduce the time I spend on my phone this month.
  5. Make a plan for 2021 – honestly I have been scared to make any plans for 2021 since 2020 turned out to be such a bummer. But with renewed hope – I am going to spend some time this month planning out the things I hope to do in 2021.

What are your goals for the last month of the year? Anything you want to achieve before the year ends? Here’s hoping this last month makes up for the sucky year we’ve had! 🙂

Stay safe and merry. ❤

Hehehe. I loved those reindeers. My goals are somewhat similar to yours :/
I’ve already created a healthy sleeping pattern since November, so that’s okay. And yeah, I want to start exercising because I want to get back to trekking. That’s something I’ve missed doing in 2020 which lead to me piling on extra weight.
Since you were away from your family, must have been tough. Can’t even imagine that! My best friend who lives alone had gone quiet for almost 2 months. She kept in touch with her family and me, having enough conversation to let us know she was surviving.
I’m really looking forward for next year to be awesome and I hope people get back their jobs or if in startups, they succeed. Good thing to come out of this is, local startups! I am really looking forward to supporting those!
And, i’m looking forward to more travel posts and lots of baking from you! :p

Woah, once things get better – we’re doing a trek together!

Supporting local businesses is a such a great idea! I’ve been trying to do the same. Shop more local! 🙂

Yesss, I hope 2021 is way better for all of us! May we finally be able to breathe fresh air sans masks! ❤

I wonder – will normal life seem weird to us once the dust settles on covid? 😛

      Thank you so much! 🙂

Looking forward to reading all your content! So much fun reading about what people are doing for Christmas and the holidays. 🙂

Hopefully 2021 is our year! May we finally be able to hug our loved ones worry free and may the sanitizer bottles be retired! 😀

I’d like to finish another book before the year ends and think I’ll make some what of a plan for 2021, other than that my goal is just to wind down and relax where I can. Take care xx

This year has been so challenging on everyone that just maintaining your sanity is an achievement in itself, don’t be so hard on yourself, you are doing amazing 🖤

Thank you so much, Tanvi! ❤

This year was something else! I can't wait to watch all the movies they're going to make about this year. 😀

Can't wait for normality – though I do enjoy the 6ft distance rule, maybe they should still have that. 😛

      Fingers crossed for 2021! 🙂

I think we will all be happy when this year comes to an end. Even just going through this pandemic is highly anxiety-inducing, so it’s only normal that we didn’t do as much as we could have, if this year had been a “normal” one, and there’s nothing to feel bad about! I hope you’ll manage to accomplish your goals, and I’m sure you’ll start off 2021 with the right mindset! 😊

I can definitely relate to your list. My sleeping schedule and exercise routine were also impacted during this pandemic. Cheers to a new, healthy start.
