5 Things I Haven’t Used Since The Pandemic

The pandemic has changed a lot of things in my life. Pre-pandemic I was working a corporate job and leading a chill, single life. Now I am running my own show and hustling as much as I can. Thanks to all the changes in my life, there are a few things that I haven’t felt the need to use, these are –

  • HEELS – I used to wear heels at my corporate job or while going out but I haven’t used them ever since. *SIGH* I miss wearing heels every day but with my business – I have switched to more comfortable sandals now. (makes it easier to hustle 😀 ) And I haven’t done much of going out – so I haven’t seen my heels in A LONG TIME.
My phone used to be filled with such selfies.
  • SWIMWEAR – I haven’t been to a pool or any other water body since February’20. I am pretty sure I won’t even fit into my old swim wear. But I so wish I get to go to the beach soon.

  • TRAINS – While I didn’t take the train a lot before the pandemic, I also haven’t used it after it hit. It feels a little scary to be in a shared space with people for a long duration. I have flown twice since the pandemic hit but on the whole haven’t really travelled. Hoping that things settle down in a few months and I am able to travel again. I, also, haven’t used the metro to commute around my city since this pandemic hit.
Feb’20 – before things went southwards! 😦
  • BASE MAKE-UP – I don’t use a lot of make-up because I am lazy so I usually stick to the kajal + lip colour look. I used to do a full face of makeup for weddings or special occasions but with having to wear a mask for attending even special occasions now, I haven’t bothered to do a full face of make up in the past year. RIP – my unused foundation and concealer.

  • CHUNKY JEWELRY – I love wearing BIG chunky earrings and have a HUGE collection of it (over 100 big earrings – I used to be a shopaholic) but with it getting in the way of wearing and removing a mask – I haven’t worn my big chunky earrings in the past year. 😦
One of my many favourite earrings. 😦

What are some things that you haven’t used in a post pandemic world? Are things back to normal in your nook of the world?

I haven’t been to a beach since foreverrrrrrr! I miss everything, the traffic on the roads and bustling, crowded indian Railways. Great post, reminds me of everything I miss too!

  4. Yes I love wearing rings and I stopped wearing them as soon as quarantine started. So they’ve been just sitting and are so tarnished and ugly. They’re now at the jewelers getting cleaned 💖😬 I hope to be able to wear them when I return to my office on August 9th, gulp! xo

Yes, I stopped wearing my wedding rings bc I’m worried about how much sanitizer I use and what that can do to the rings lol

Great list! For a while it was jeans lol I live in sweat pants or leggings most of my life but during pandemic when I was not leaving my house, jeans was the last thing I’d ever want to put on! 😅

  7. I haven’t been on a train, metro or the public transport bus. I have reduced my use of makeup, contact lenses and heels too. I haven’t bought dresses other than the ones for my pandemic wedding. I haven’t been to a library or park either!

I donated a bunch of my work clothes earlier this year. Haven’t worn them in ages! This was a really good post and got me thinking. I’ve been on a decluttering mission over the last few months, and there are definitely lots of things I haven’t used since March of 2020.

My favorite lip gloss got abandoned for a while there with all the mask wearing. The opposite problem is happening now for my ring light, it gets ignored as we go back to working in person more. I love working from home sometimes and swear I’ll never give up my home office now

I was telling me oft girlfriends that I’m afraid by the time things go back to normal, I might not be able to walk properly in heels😆😆
I’ve only put full makeup on events and sometimes when I go to church, but it’s not a full-blown one. Just a touch base here and there then am good.
Since we wear masks every the, I’ve gone big with hearings and neckpieces. I compensate them 💄 with jewelry.

Heheheee… I sure haven’t worn most of my pretty clothes in a really long time.

I don’t even bother with lipsticks anymore as my mask tends to “kiss it off”.

If I remember correctly, the last time I traveled by train/metro was when I was in middle school. Time really flew by on that one 😅

Other than that, I haven’t really worn my sneakers/platform sneakers/boots and my table tennis kit that often. They’re just sitting in some corner waiting for the time to come 😂

Same here! For the first 6 months, I wore jeans at home to feel like there was still some discipline to my day– but gave up on that over the last year. Leggings and comfy pants are just too tempting XD

OMG1 The earrings, I love wearing hoops, but since I always have glasses on at home or my mask in public, it’s just too annoying right now. I hope I get to break them out soon 🙂
