What a crazy year it has been for me – blogging wise!!!!! Just sitting down to write this post – my 300th post on here – makes me feel like a blogging village elder. I can’t believe that another year has gone by and I’m still here trying to consistently write. It hasn’t been the easiest to write over the past few months but I’ve been trying. I was mulling over what I can do for my 300th post and I thought a look back over my 2021 blogging journey would be perfect. My 200th post was in March this year and while I have berated myself for not being consistent with posting – 100 posts over 8 months doesn’t seem like that bad a number. So let’s see how my 2021 blogging journey was –
STATS – As much as we hate to admit it, stats do make a difference to all of us! While my stats were soaring in the first half of the year, they dropped A LOT in the second half and that hurt (to be totally honest). All my stats are down by 50% but as much as it bothers me, I also know that I really can’t do much more about it – so I’m accepting it (and hiding my pain and tears from you all, JK).
BlOGGING FAMILY – I feel like I haven’t interacted with a lot of new bloggers especially in the second half of the year, owing to the fact that I haven’t been spending all that much time on here. A lot of my old friends from 2020 aren’t very regular on here anymore, so that’s also a bummer. But overall I love my small little blogging family, they keep me coming back here.
MONETIZATION – My plan had been to monetize this year but owing to my lack of time, I really couldn’t get down to planning it out properly. Here’s hoping that happens in January 2022. (Why am I taking my time – because I want to clear out some old posts, structure my blog and blog topics, decide on a theme and then monetize. Am I overthinking it?)
OTHER PERKS –
- I love how so many people from my blogging family have supported my new business. From shout-outs on their blogs/IG to shopping and supporting my brand, it means so so much to me. A big THANK YOU to you all.
- We started a small Telegram group for us to talk and discuss blogging and life journeys. It’s been great to get to know each other a little better and each other’s cultures. Truly feels like we have a close knit blogging family. I’ve tried to share the link with as many people as I know, if I missed out on sharing it with you, please let me know in the comments.
- I’ve gotten so much help with my anxiety and through my very dark days in 2021. During and after the second wave, all my blogging friends made sure to brighten some very low days. So again, A BIG THANK YOU for that.
- I’ve gotten so much good advice from so many wiser people on here. If I start naming them, the list will never end. I’ve been blessed to find people that are so rich in experiences and have taken out time to give me advice. To all of you, again, the BIGGEST thank you possible.
OVERALL – I love my blog. I love how much it has evolved over the last 2 years. I love how it is a hobby that isn’t just a hobby. It has been a blessing on many sad days. It has been my safe haven to share all the weird thoughts that go on in my head. I look forward to a better and even more fun blogging journey in 2022. (This isn’t my last post for 2022!!!)

Yayy to a wonderful blogging year and wishing you many many more. I always thought you would never monetise your blog any time soon Eventhough you kept saying it lol 😄 I remember you saying “I’m monetising it this weekend” and later, changing it to “Monetising this Diwali” to now, this 🙂 I’m sure you’ll do it next year 😉

I love your blog! Congratulations on reaching a new milestone with it. I definitely can’t wait to see where you take it in the next year. I hope you accomplish all your goals. I would love to be more consistent with posting and see it grow more. Monetizing has always been something I wanted to learn more about, but I don’t want to be put into a box with what I can write about.

You know I love your blog!! And I can’t wait to keep reading in 2022 😊 Hm 2021 blogging-wise was really good bc I started taking it seriously in March and it really paid off. I’d like to try to post twice a week in 2022, but I 💯 won’t beat myself up if I miss some days. Right now I have 300 followers and I’d love to reach 500 in 2022. Here’s hoping! 😘😘😘
