From having posts scheduled for the next 2 weeks to forgetting it is my scheduled day to post – I have become a super disorganized blogger over the past few months. I’m literally writing this post after realizing that my posting time today has passed (I usually post on Tuesdays & Thursdays). With life returning to normal post the pandemic, it has gotten harder to juggle my work, life, blog, and doing nothing time (this is probably what I spend my maximum time on.. argh). These are the most recurring thoughts I have while blogging these days –

- F*%#!! How do I not have a post ready to go up today!?! Should I skip posting today?
- Maybe I should take a break, this is all getting too much. But what if I never return from that blackhole some of my favourite bloggers have disappeared into over the past year?
- Wow, this new follower commented on a post from a year back. Does that mean my content quality is going down?
- Awww, she never forgets to comment on my post but I haven’t seen a post from her in a while. *clicks on her blog* Oh crap, I’ve missed reading her last 10 posts!!!!
- *blogging instead of working* Why is this blog not making me millions already? *sigh* *gets back to work*
Honestly, if you see me liking and commenting on 5 of your posts at the same time – I promise I’m not spamming you. WordPress Reader has been selectively showing me posts (are you also facing this issue?) and I’ve also been swamped with work. So when I visit your blog, I try to catch up on all the posts that I might have missed.
I love that I’ve been able to keep the blog going and stick to my schedule (mostly) but boy, is it hard. How do you manage to find time to keep up with the blogging world? Do you also feel like the blogging world has gotten quieter in 2022 (in comparison to 2020)?
If you haven’t already, give my other recent posts some love –
exactly and u are right

Guilty too. Getting distracted with my sketching and feeling like it’s same old same old. Dread going into the black hole again tho. Thanks for your inspiration 🙂👏

You know I feel you here 💖 For your number 3, my first thought was actually oh it must be a good evergreen post that someone found through a search and liked/commented on. Your number 4 is hysterical 🤣 I have def been slacking and have no schedule at this point but I’m giving myself that for now. When I have something to say I will say it, and I hope my followers love me until then. I’m SURE they’ll do the same for u 😘

I dont find time to blog 🥴 I have neglected my blog so much recently. Just not feeling motivated or inspired. Its a lot of work and my life and actual career take up my time. I’m trying to get back on it but with less pressure on myself.

I hear you! I try to write about things I feel deeply about, and not just create content for the sake of it, so that means I have thrown out any notions of creating a schedule. Trying to schedule regular blog posts seems to work counter-actively to creativity, as well as being able to honor my mind and body as I deal with work and health issues. (I don’t write about those, but honestly, they take away my spoons!)

Trueee! I totally get how creativity and inspiration can’t be forced and just have to come with the flow.
I usually use an inspired day to get 3-4 blog drafts going that I complete and post later. It’s just not been happening lately.

I understand that dilemma. I suppose that is a natural thing to happen when one writes a lot of posts.
Are there other things that interest you that you currently aren’t writing about? Do you think it’s possible that your heart might be taking things in a new direction?

Welcome to the blogosphere – it’s an amazing place.
PS: I think the link to your blog (from your profile) is broken – it keeps showing the website has been deleted. Do share a link to one of your posts for me and my other readers to check out.

Thanks! I watched a WP video replay and felt further assured about entering the blogoshere 🙂 I’m still building the site on WP dot org (yep, I’m one of those folks self-hosting). I’ll have to share it out on dot com when I go live! Cheers!

I have an extra thing to add: Information overload. Especially when trying to learn more about SEO or stay on top of Google or advice. There is such a thing as too much information. One reason I’m taking a break from blogging is for the sake of learning my craft and figuring out how to not be overwhelmed

It’s funny how everything I’ve learnt about blogging, I’ve learnt from blogging and not Google…maybe that’s why I don’t know a lot about blogging 🤣
I’m glad you are doing that. Totally makes sense.

Chatting with other bloggers really helps. I didn’t really learn from Google either. I have learned from chatting with other bloggers

SO much time! Every single time I sit down to write a post, I am shocked by how much time it takes.

I think scheduling posts on a chosen day for the next few weeks definitely is helpful – at least for me! 😆 These thoughts are totally fine tho and I think myself and the rest of your followers always appreciate your content regardless of the quantity! ☺️

It’s definitely helpful but I’ve been finding it very hard to find time (and inspiration) to sit and write posts. Since I want my blog to be a fun space for me, I haven’t been forcing myself to write and schedule. But it’s definitely helpful.
Thank you ☺️

That last one – every single time I write a post I’m proud of – I wonder why this blog hasn’t made me a millionaire already. 🤣

I tend to draft my posts so I can just post on the day which means I can write them when I have time or a bit of inspiration.

I do the same but with so much happening in life I’ve been finding it difficult to find time to write even when I am inspired. 😢

Why, you listed all my blogging thoughts! LOL
Yes, for sure the blogosphere has quieted down in 2022… or have I just stopped following everyone and anyone new to the blogosphere…?!? Maybe a bit of both! In early 2022, I decided to whittle down my list of blogs I follow because I felt so overwhelmed with trying to catch up with posts from other bloggers (wanted to share the love) but I also felt like I wasn’t motivated to read books in my personal life because I was reading so much already to keep up with missed posts… so I decided to scale back! I also wanted to focus on the bloggers who have always supported me who I also enjoy staying interactive with!
Also, my new blogging thing is throwing away the schedule of creating, i.e. Sundays I brainstorm, Mondays I draft, Tuesdays I schedule the future post.. I am done with that lol now, I just do all of it on a Tuesday at 8pm after Charlotte goes to bed and hope for the best and that I am in bed at a decent hour!! LOL

I found you via Bossy Babe and can relate to this post so much, especially this week. I sometimes wonder how someone found something old that I wrote– and why they liked it and not my current post. It can send you into a tailspin of angst.

Ok. That’s the next thing I need to do: set a schedule. I’m retired, so I have no excuses!

I honestly don’t like working with a schedule just cause creativity doesn’t work on a schedule. But I’ve seen that having a schedule makes sure I end up being active on my blog. 🙂

Exactly! I’m the same way. I write when the spirit hits me but I do get lazy, so a schedule would really help! 😀

I feel you! Blogging has been so hard for me lately, mostly because there is so much I want to do and talk about but I just don’t have enough time to write, visit other blogs I like or reply to comments. With the “back to normal” situation I feel like it is also harder to stick to it because we are engaging in more social activities or more things are open, etc.
In the end, it is okay if you feel like taking a break, the important thing is that this is still an enjoyable hobby for you!

Seriously! But this month instead of taking a break, I tried to set an alarm and take out 15-20mins every day to visit the blogosphere and it wasn’t all that bad. But I definitely don’t have nearly as much time as I did before..but hopefully this much is enough. 😊
Have a good vacation with your girls in Portugal. ❤️

That’s funny, I started doing the same thing, working on my blog a little bit everyday, and it actually wasn’t that bad!

I find that not setting a schedule helps me the most as crazy as that sounds! It takes the stress and pressure off. I do make goals, however, that is what keeps motivated. Love your content and thank you for your constant support!

One has just not been on the blogosphere for a long time. And I might have become one of those bloggers who disappeared into thin air…glad I managed to kick the black hole of writer’s block. Although the blog crashed and I was not able to retrieve the followers. Starting from scratch now

Yes to WordPress issues, in terms of what it’s showing me and how it’s working for me when I blog. My last two posts got stuck on ‘autosave’ and wouldn’t publish. I mean, I got it sorted but- stress! The thing I never realised about blogging is, you have to feed the beast, constantly. But then I genuinely love blogging and wouldn’t be without it so… on we go!
