My Indian Jewellery Collection – Neck Pieces & Bangles

I have a lot of jewellery that I’ve collected over the last 10 years. Since I moved home with my folks a few months back, I discovered a whole bunch of jewellery that I had conveniently forgotten about (convenient because it gave me reason to shop more 🙄). Since I have been trying to shop less, I decided to go through my old collection and pick pieces that I love and would use. On a regular day – I only wear earrings since they’re convenient to pair with any outfit. I find that wearing a neck piece makes an outfit a little dressy and hence, I don’t naturally gravitate towards them. Here is a small glimpse into my collection that I’ve collected over the years, some gifted and some impulse shopped –

I love these bangles. If you’re ever in Hyderabad – check out the bangle shops near Charminar to find these and other gems. (Gifted to me by my mum)
I think my aunt gifted me this. It’s got such a Indie-boho vibe. I love it.
This seashell necklace is a decade old! I bought it because despite being simple it adds so much character to a simple look. Love this.
Can we all agree that this lotus neck piece is gorgeous? A good friend gifted this to me a few years back and I can’t get enough of those gorgeous colours.
I’m not religious but I love Ganesha (a Hindu deity). This necklace has so much character and pairs so well with Indian outfits.
How fun is this Gujarati choker? I picked this up during my trip to Kutch. Those colours got my heart.
I think this has been my best street wear buy. It cost INR 50 (less than 1USD). I love this piece so much. If you’re ever in Delhi – head to Janpath for all your junk jewellery shopping.
I love this pendant. I was solo tripping in Hampi and on my last evening in the ruins – I found this old lady selling these overpriced (🙈) jewellery but I just loved the jewellery and ended up picking 5-6 pieces.

I’ve recently donated a lot of my collection and feel proud of the pieces I’ve kept. What do you think of these pieces? Which one was your favourite?

Stay safe and hit follow! 😛❤️

I did a blog on my earring collection a few months back, check it out here.

I love the glitz of the bangles – even though I hate wrist jewellery on myself. And the Lotus necklace 🥰🥰

Thank you! 🙂 I’m too lazy to pair neck pieces and bangles with outfits but I love collecting them during the course of my travels.

Since I have an allergy to most metals except for copper, I was enjoying the pieces which didn’t use metal to come into contact with skin! Lovely!

oooh! That is unfortunate! :/ I used to react to certain metals too when I was in my teens but years of wearing them despite the pain has made my skin resistant to them. But I wouldn’t recommend anyone else doing that!! 😀

I used to have a milder allergy but it got worse over the years! Blisters! No fun! My skin loves copper though!

Same – I love jewellery with some history attached to it! I try to keep such pieces in my box and tend to donate the others after a while! 😀

Thank you! I’ve tried to only keep pieces that are unique and fun – since I hardly wear neck pieces! 😀

I love that neck piece so much even though I’ve never worn it out. I suck at pairing neck pieces with clothes.

You don’t say! If it were mine I’d find a reason to wear it often.

Omg the lotus neck piece is really pretty! You need two more types in your collection. A dokra and a wooden beaded one. I can’t stop gushing over my mom’s dokra jewelleries whenever she gets them out to dress up. 😍😍

Ooohhh I do have some Dokra Jewellery. My best friend is Oriya – so she buys me a few pieces every time she goes to Odisha! I agree – they are gorgeous!!!! I’ve only kept the earrings – since I hardly wear neck pieces. But my mum has a few and they look so pretty with elegant sarees!

I honestly love darjeeling stones too, even random shells haha. But I hardly ever wear neckpieces, they start itching. I have very sensitive skin. I’m all for admiring them on others though lol 🙈
