October Diary – Travel, Short Break and Birthday

Hello Hellooo!

I have backspaced that first line to start this post – 12 times now. I usually find it easier to write since I write what is on my mind but I’ve just not felt like writing this month. I still managed to post a few posts since I usually have a bunch of drafts ready to post but as of today, I’m not excited about any of the posts in my drafts. So why am I writing? I have this weird theory – that if I go a few days without writing then I would totally let this blog go. The same happened with reading – sometime in July – I just let it go – I didn’t want to force myself to read and thought I’d read when I want to – and it has been tough to get back to it again. Do you also feel that way or is it a me problem?

So what has been going on this month?

The snowy peak in the background is the third highest mountain peak in the world. (part of the Himalayas)
  • I travelled for a few days last week to this picturesque hill station in the North East of India called Kalimpong. How picturesque? You could see Kanchenjunga (the third highest mountain in the world) from my resort. It was a nice break – my family and I spent it eating and walking around the pretty town. I’ll write a whole post about it soon.
  • It was my birthday last week – which coincided with our travel. Its odd how I felt really excited till the day of my birthday and on the day – this lull sort of settled on my mind and I kept thinking about how I want to do more with my life than I am now. But I finally decided to use that feeling to setup some goals for myself for before my next birthday. The goal is to be – healthy, mentally at peace and financially in a better place.
  • I joined the GYM! If you read my Q4 challenges – getting back in shape is a major goal. I joined the gym with my friend to make sure we go – we haven’t been the most regular but here’s hoping we get better and in the next 6 months get healthier.
  • We’ve had crazy festive sales on Amazon and other e-commerce sites, which meant a lot more orders for my brand (YAYAY) and lot more time I spent packing the orders. (I just realized we crossed 100+ online orders a few weeks back :D).
  • New festive launches – in line with all the festivities in India – we have and are in the process of launching new products and also having a physical stall setup. So it has been HECTIC!
  • I discovered a new favourite show – someone told me about this show and the premise seemed so crazy and fun that I started watching it and FELL IN LOVE – Only Murders in the Building. Not only is the cast brilliant (Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez) and so funny – the entire plotline is a riot! Definitely check it out if you are looking for a fun, mindless show and are fans of true crime (where is my true crime gang at??)
  • I’ve been trying to work on improving my brand’s website‘s SEO, DA etc. (I want to thank my lovely friend, Libby – I reached out to her for help with building backlinks and she went above and beyond to help. I’m glad to have found such an amazing friend on here.)
  • Figuring out the scene with monetizing my blog – I really want to work out a blog strategy before I do monetize and I’m working on getting it all together.
  • In line with my birthday goals, I am joining online classes for a few courses since I feel like I’ve completely stopped learning new things.
Older and a lil wiser me!

So I have been super busy this month and I feel like this blog is slipping through my fingers and I feel so so so frustrated. How has your month been? Any tips for me?

  2. Congrats on your brand going well!!! And happy birthday! I feel you when you mentioned about not being able to post much. Even though I have changed my blogging schedule to post only once a week, it’s still hard to manage my blog with all the school stuff.
Hope it all goes as you wish! Cheers!!

I’ve reduced to twice a week too but it has been so difficult to create even content for just 2 posts. ARGHHH!

How is school going? Have you started physically attending school? 🙂

I watched the first 2 episodes of Only Murders In The Building with my family too! Though my parents didn’t like it much, my elder sis and I decided to continue after her exams! It’s pretty interesting!

Kalimpong was a much needed break for us all.
I loved the show – it’s mindless but fun. But I can see why it may not be interesting for some. Hope you two enjoy it. ☺️

  4. So many things to comment on! First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I totally know that feeling of being blah on the day of, I think that’s normal. It’s like ok I’m a year older, now what? I also can’t wait to see/read about your trip because that resort looks amazing damn! I’m so glad you are getting more orders, that’s so exciting! And as for blog unrest, yeah it’s weird I don’t ever consider dropping off for a time and need to keep at least one post going a week. But for me if I force myself to start writing I always find I have something to say ha! Who me?!?! Hang in there, sister, you’re doing simply fab 🌺🌺🌺

I want to focus on building a niche since I want to monetize my blog but I've been so blah about getting down to doing it. 😦

      1. You’ll get there. Do u mean building a niche through HP or Moksha Life? I know it’s hard to force things if they aren’t coming. When I feel that way I like CANT do it. But you’ll get there and it’ll be great! 🌺😊

So glad that your brand is going well. You have put so much work on it. I believe your brand will continue to grow more than what it already is.

So I think its about time I join gym as well. It’s been a long time since I’ve exercised. I’m considering going back to the gym

I used to go to the gym till before 2020 and then used to do home workouts but missed going to the gym and also piled on some weight. So looking forward to getting healthy again. Ohh aerobic yoga – sounds fun!!

      One more thing!
I LOVED Only Murders In The Building. I really tried hard to convince everyone around me to watch it. 😂
The plot was really good and the execution of some of the episodes was simply divine!

There is so much left to explore in India – so hoping to cover a few places here before I pick up travelling internationally again. I’m sure it is the same with Canada – the snowy parts of Canada look dreamy in winters.
