The year is off to a rocky start. Omicron has taken over our lives across countries with restrictions and lockdowns back in place. A few of my friends have also caught the bug and it is seriously bugging me now. So Bloganuary’s prompt for the day (5 things that I am grateful for) comes at a time when I really do need to contemplate and be grateful for so many things around me. I’ll be honest, I’m disappointed at how much 2022 is starting to look like 2020 but there is hope in my heart that things will look up soon. So what 5 things am I grateful for today?
1. I’m grateful that my family and friends are safe. Even the ones who have tested positive are not in need of hospitalization and are healing at home.
2. There is no total lockdown in my city currently. If you aren’t aware, I run my own small business and a lockdown would mean loss of business for me.
3. Talking about my small business, I had taken a short break and I’m back at work this week. I received a few orders while I was on the break and I’m grateful for them.
4. I saw my first snowfall in 2022. So so grateful to have experienced this. (More about this in a lengthier post later)

5. This is a funny one but I bought this tiny personal heater last year. All it does is heat the space in it’s immediate vicinity. Since I’m not big on using our proper heater (it dries out my skin), this heater is such a blessing to just get that little warmth going before sleeping and in the morning before getting out of bed. Plus how cute is it?

Those were the 5 things I’m grateful for today. What are you grateful for? How is the Omicron situation in your country?
PS: Sorry for not replying to comments on the past few posts, I was on the go and couldn’t really take out time for much other than posting. 🙂

Blessings to you! Hang in! We’re going to get through this!
I have a heated mattress cover and even when it’s on its lowest setting keeps my bed cozy during these cold nights!

Your heater is so cute! I’m sorry your loved ones are getting sick. In some ways lockdowns are a double-edged sword because some people really can’t lock down, but sometimes it’s necessary to have one. My area desperately needs a lockdown, but it’s not going to happen. That’s why I am doing my own personal one. Can’t wait for your post on snow!

I literally JUST read something about how we should call small businesses “growing businesses” so that made me chuckle. Your heater is so cute!
Today, I’m grateful for my friends, and I’m grateful for recovering from Covid. My sister is a health worker and she caught it at the hospital and brought it home. lol.

I am grateful for my immediate family, I am grateful for all my extended family, I am grateful for my job (because I love it), I am grateful for my blog and this blogging community and I am grateful for bread…. I love bread. LOL can’t get enough!

IKR? My city gets cold in winters but not snowfall cold – so every winters we escape to warmer places – mostly beaches. So while I’ve seen snow, I’ve never seen snowfall. Finally witnessing snowfall was so so magical! ☺️
Hahah I think the first interaction I remember of ours was – you gushing over bread and me gushing over cheesecake. 🤣 Unfortunately I’m no longer grateful for cheesecake since I’m going vegan. The vegan cheesecakes I have tried have been 😐.

Good on you for taking the time to write down some gratitude! Doesn’t sound easy, blessings your way 😊
We have mostly boarder cases here in NZ, managed to get my booster jab early Dec so feeling much better for having it, if (when) we get an outbreak here. Take care & stay safe! X

That heater is super adorable! I imagine you being cozy with it. It is a nice thought. And I am glad your business is churning – may it continue to do so and be spared by omicron! Thank you for sharing positivity today. It is so refreshing.

I can only hold on to the hope that this year will finally start in an upward trend towards normalcy and less insanity.
